Communication of Ideas for Our Library's Future
It is the mission of our library to become a 21st Century Learning Hub, a place for all learners to gather and utilize both print and technology resources in new ways. A vital part of becoming the center of activity within the school is communication with all stakeholders. Our target group includes teachers and administrators, students and parents, and boards of education. In order for our mission to get attention from this broad audience, we must present our plan in various ways. The most effective strategy for doing this is face-to-face presentations at faculty meetings, board of education meetings, and Parent-Teacher gatherings. This can be done with tools such as Pik-to-Chart, Haiku Deck, or many other online presentation programs. Most of these tools allow the information to be exported in a pdf format, which can be distributed as a pamphlet for later reference. In addition to face-to-face presentations and print reference pamphlets, the information can be embedded on both the school-wide and media center web pages. A final suggestion for communicating with stakeholders is broadcasting details about special events and library accomplishments with banners or posters within the school and the community. These can be posted throughout the hallways or added to bulletin boards in various locations. The presentations below are examples that can be used in many of the strategies mentioned above, such as face-to-face presentations, print resources (pamphlets, banners, posters), and websites.
